Notarization

नोटरीकरण (Notarikaran)
Plain English Definition

Getting a document attested by a notary public — a government-appointed officer who verifies signatures and identities. Notarization adds authenticity but does NOT equal registration. It's useful for affidavits, declarations, and documents going abroad.

Real Indian Example

You need an affidavit for a passport application. A notary public verifies your identity (checks Aadhaar), watches you sign the affidavit, stamps it, and adds their seal. This typically costs ₹50-200.
